Basketball Recap: Ben Davis Giants vs. Fishers Tigers
Ben Davis unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 65-57 to the Fishers Tigers on Tuesday. The Giants lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 71-36 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Ben Davis lost, don't look at Jashawn Ladd. Despite the final result, he went 10-for-18 en route to 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tj Minor, who posted five points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fishers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kai McGrew, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 19 points in addition to six steals and four blocks. Jason Gardner was another key player, going 6-for-8 on his way to 23 points.
Ben Davis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-48 defeat against Zionsville on the 29th. As for Fishers, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-48 win against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical on the 28th.
