Softball Recap: Valley Heights Mustangs vs. Doniphan West Mustangs        
        
		
            
 After losing to Doniphan West the last time they met, Valley Heights decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Valley Heights Mustangs walked away with  an   8-5  victory over the Doniphan West Mustangs  on Tuesday.
  Paige Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in 13 consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Anne Toerber and  Maggie Toerber did most of the damage at the plate:  Toerber  scored three  runs while going 2-for-3, while  Toerber  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3. Toerber has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times she's  played.
 Valley Heights' win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Doniphan West, their defeat  ended  a  four-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 6-8.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Heights will  face off against Republic County at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Republic County is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.4  runs per game  this season. As for Doniphan West, they are on the road again  on Thursday to play Troy at 4:30  p.m.
