Softball Recap: Nolan Catholic Comes Up Short

Nolan Catholic extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 6-17. They fell 5-0 to the Parish Episcopal Panthers. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 6-5 to the Panthers when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leah Granados spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Nolan Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brenna Frasier, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

As for Parish Episcopal, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

On Parish Episcopal's side, not much got past Olivia Waterhouse ?28, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Nolan Catholic off the board. Waterhouse ?28 has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adelia DeFriend ?28, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Phoenix Jordan ?29, who went 3-for-4 with one home run.

While Nolan Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
