Troy waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Genesee Bulldogs as they made off with a 13-5 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Cooper Trout and Dominic Holden were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Trout tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Holden struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave Trout a new career-high in strikeouts (four). At the plate, Trout went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Holden went a perfect 3-for-3 with six stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Holden has become a key player for Troy: the team is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Javan Barton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Archer Barton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Troy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in four consecutive games.

Troy's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Genesee, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12-1.

Coming up, Troy will challenge Kendrick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 11.4 runs per game this season. Genesee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
