On Saturday, Lanham Christian faced Georgetown Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Lanham Christian Lions fell 55-46 to the Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Lanham Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jamar Payen, who posted 12 points and seven boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tre Ray, who earned 12 points.

Lanham Christian's loss dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Georgetown Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season.

Lanham Christian will challenge Living Water Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Living Water Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully Lanham Christian likes a good challenge. Georgetown Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
