Softball Recap: Pea Ridge Takes a Loss

Pea Ridge dropped their record down to 16-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Bentonville Tigers, falling 12-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blackhawks have suffered since May 3, 2024.

As for Bentonville, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games.

For Bentonville's part, Darby Burnett tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Burnett has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Demi Donahoe was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Mears, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Pea Ridge will square off against Rogers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bentonville, they will take on Springdale at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
