Venice had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the San Fernando Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Gondoliers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Noel Moreno tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

On the hitting side, Venice's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Canon King, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Venice's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.6 runs. As for San Fernando, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Venice didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-9 victory against Fairfax on the 2nd. As for San Fernando, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against Verdugo Hills on the 1st.
