Volleyball Recap: Alexa Meza Key Part of Team Effort in Mustangs Win

North won the last time they faced Central and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

North walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-9.

North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexa Meza led the charge by getting 15 assists and three aces. That's the most assists Meza has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazlyn Espinoza Duarte, who had 12 digs.

They weren't the only good servers: North was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in four consecutive contests.

North's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Central, they dropped their record down to 0-16 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Alhambra on the 27th. Central has also already played their next match (against Fairfax), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
