After a string of four wins, Santa Cruz's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Lynbrook Vikings by a score of 2-1. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Santa Cruz's defeat dropped their record down to 22-3. As for Lynbrook, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-11 record.

Santa Cruz has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Redwood on the 25th. As for Lynbrook, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Amador Valley on the 25th.
