Basketball Recap: Louisburg Takes a Loss

Louisburg played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 69-31 defeat at the hands of the South Granville Vikings. The Warriors were down 58-18 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Loss or not, Louisburg got some senior leadership from Javion Lynch and Jaylen Alexander. Lynch posted nine points and five boards, while Alexander put up nine points.

South Granville found their leader in sophomore KJ Terry, who went 9-for-12 en route to 21 points in addition to eight assists and eight rebounds. Terry has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Traevon Hayes, who had seven points along with nine rebounds and five assists.

Louisburg has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for South Granville, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Louisburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southern School of Energy and Sustainability will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Louisburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Granville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-71 win against Carrboro on the 12th.
