Football Recap: Berryhill Chiefs vs. Cushing Tigers
Berryhill unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 24-23 to the Cushing Tigers. The Chiefs have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Roman Tucker was nothing short of spectacular for Cushing: he rushed for 83 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 232 yards and one touchdown. Tucker is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. 88 of Tucker's passing yards were hauled in by Bryce Ward, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berryhill is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Fort Gibson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cushing, they will head out to take on Bristow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
