Volleyball Recap: Arlington Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Arlington and Shorecrest, and Shorecrest kept the tradition alive. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Scots on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Scots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Arlington was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Shorecrest's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-22.

Emme Shaffer paced Arlington's offense, picking up eight kills. Shaffer were helped by Grace Armes and Audrey Marsh, who contributed seven assists each. Marsh was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Arlington's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Shorecrest, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Arlington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Lake Stevens on the 25th. As for Shorecrest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Meadowdale on the 25th.
