Volleyball Recap: Athol Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Athol lost against Belchertown back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bears took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orioles.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-15, 14-25, 25-19.

Aiden Desreuisseau paced Athol's offense, picking up 12 kills. Desreuisseau got some help from Landon Collins and his 12 assists. Desreuisseau was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Athol's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9. As for Belchertown, their victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11.

Athol has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Granby on the 9th. Belchertown has also already played their next game (against Wilbraham & Monson Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
