Basketball Recap: Canterbury Comes Up Short

Canterbury lost against Indian Rocks Christian back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Canterbury Crusaders lost 53-27 to the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Malia Stevens continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Indian Rocks Christian, going 8 of 16 on her way to 25 points. Stevens' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Kennedy, who posted four points along with nine rebounds and five steals.

Canterbury's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canterbury will take on Sarasota Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canterbury is facing Sarasota Christian at the right time seeing as Sarasota Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Northside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season.
