Football Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Kennedy fell victim to Standley Lake and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 21-0 to the Gators. The Commanders lost against the Gators in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 42-0 score last time.

Teagan Leighton was a one-man wrecking crew For Standley Lake. as he rushed for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 150 yards and one TD. Leighton also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Gators are 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise.

Kennedy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Standley Lake, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-5.

Coming up, Kennedy will be playing in front of their home fans against Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Commanders will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. As for Standley Lake, they are taking a road trip to square off against Holy Family at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Gators will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
