Volleyball Recap: Richards Takes a Loss

Richards lost against Mumford back in August of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Mustangs.

Lily Shead paced Richards' offense, picking up three kills. Shead got some help from Caroline Pool and her five assists. Payton Withers controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Mumford was led to victory by Nancy Galvan and Ashlen Sloan. Galvan had 12 digs, while Sloan had five digs and four aces. Sloan has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last 12 times she's played.

Richards' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Mumford, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Richards wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Trinity on the 29th. As for Mumford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Crockett on the 28th.
