Softball Game Preview: Brookings Bobcats vs. Washington Warriors

The Brookings Bobcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Washington Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Brookings is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Stevens, who was ranked 11th at the time (Brookings was ranked 16th). The Bobcats took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders on Saturday. The contest marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Washington had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Lynx.

Washington's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Brookings, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5.

Brookings suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Washington in their previous matchup last Friday. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
