Volleyball Recap: Grant Community Comes Up Short

Grant Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Lakes Eagles. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Grant Community might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Lakes: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-22.

When it comes to explaining why Grant Community lost, don't look at Hayden Henningsen. Despite the final result, he had 14 assists and three digs.

Leading Lakes to victory were Darien Zamora and Luke Rytina. Zamora had four digs and two aces, while Rytina had seven digs.

Grant Community's loss dropped their record down to 11-20. As for Lakes, their record is now 14-17.

Grant Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Grayslake North on the 15th. As for Lakes, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Grayslake Central on the 15th.
