Softball Recap: Parkland Sets Scoring Season-High Against William Allen

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parkland). They blew past the William Allen Canaries 20-1 on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Trojans with their most commanding win of the season.

Addison Fritzinger looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Scerena Reed, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anna Belletieri, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Parkland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Parkland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for William Allen, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Parkland will take on rival Whitehall at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, William Allen is set to challenge their familiar foe Emmaus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
