After flying high against Pelahatchie last Friday, Morton came back down to earth. The Morton Panthers were beaten by the Quitman Panthers 56-14 on Friday. The match marked Morton's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

The defeat snapped Morton's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record. As for Quitman, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when Panthers takes on Mendenhall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 37.5 points per game this season. As for Quitman, they will square off against Northeast Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeast Jones will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Quitman surely won't give up without a fight.
