Basketball Recap: Highlands Christian Triumphs

Highlands Christian posted their closest win since January 11, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Riverdale Raiders out 60-57.

Angel Scomparin was his usual excellent self, putting up 30 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Highlands Christian's points. Aydin Crawford was another key player, posting 11 points.

Riverdale's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamar Underwood, who posted 20 points. Underwood's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Malachii Russ, who put up 16 points.

Highlands Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Riverdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-10.

Highlands Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-57 defeat against Aubrey Rogers on the 3rd. As for Riverdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 63-60 win against Stone Ridge Christian on the 3rd.
