Volleyball Recap: Roy Royals vs. West Jordan Jaguars
Roy and West Jordan squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Roy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 3-2. The Royals just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Roy sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 20-25, 25-15, 16-25, 15-8.
West Jordan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Traeh Tuaumu, who hit 87.5% for seven kills and 13 digs, five blocks, and five aces. That's the most blocks Tuaumu has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Marshall Handy, who had 16 digs and five assists.
Roy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for West Jordan, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-10.
Roy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Jordan, they will challenge Box Elder at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
