Basketball Preview: Lone Tree Lions vs. Danville Bears
Lone Tree and Danville are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Lone Tree Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Danville Bears on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lone Tree comes in on eight and Danville on seven.
Last Tuesday, Lone Tree made easy work of Hillcrest Academy and carried off a 52-32 win. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Danville). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat New London 74-17. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Bears with their most commanding win of the season.
Lone Tree is also on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Danville, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6.
