Volleyball Recap: Greenbrier Extends Winning Streak to Three

Greenbrier waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Evans Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in August.

Greenbrier had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Among those leading the charge was Lauren Wanamaker, who had five aces and three digs. Those five aces gave her a new career-high. Sam Wanamaker also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Greenbrier's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Evans, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.

Greenbrier didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Morgan County on the 20th. As for Evans, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Alleluia Community on the 22nd.
