Game recap: St. Mary High School Football Team tops Grambling

NATCHITOCHES, La. - the Tigers scored 24 points in the second quarter to secure a big 36-8 victory over Grambling (La.) on Saturday.

St. Mary scored on an Arthur Isaac touchdown run, a Tyler McCain touchdown pass to Landon Sturdivant and a touchdown pass by McCain to Isaac in the quarter.

After taking the lead on a two-point conversion in the second quarter, SM was up 24-6 at the half.

The Natchitoches school grew its lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. The Tigers scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Garrett Vienne.

Grambling's only touchdown came on a 7-yard run in the first quarter.



Coming into the game St. Mary had allowed 18.7 points per game this year.

The defeat comes as a step back for Grambling, who notched a 52-20 victory over Ringgold in its previous outing. With the win SM extended its winning streak to four games.
