Volleyball Recap: Portville Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Portville faced off against Cochranton on Saturday. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since August 30th.

Ali Haynes paced Portville's offense, picking up five kills. Haynes got some help from Addie Walker and her nine assists. Haynes also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Leigha Stives, each putting up two.

The win made it two in a row for Portville and bumps their season record up to 23-2-2. As for Cochranton, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coincidentally, Portville and Cochranton will both be playing Fairview the next time they take the court. The Panthers will head out to face the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Cardinals will host them at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
