Baseball Recap: Brookwood Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Brookwood came into Tuesday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Central Falcons on Tuesday, sneaking past 1-0. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past Davis Torri, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Central off the board. Torri also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Brookwood is 5-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-15 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Brookwood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Smithson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Brookwood's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 9-17. As for Central, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-10.

Brookwood will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
