Little River Academy and Troy are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Bumblebees will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Little River Academy has given up an average of 32.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Little River Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Franklin just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a blow against the Lions, falling 64-14. While losing is never fun, the Bumblebees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Lions are ranked 96th).

Although Little River Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Vincent Williams and Manny Martinez.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Troy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down C.H. Yoe 42-24 on Friday. The Trojans pushed the score to 35-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Yoemen cut but never quite recovered from.

Little River Academy better keep an eye on Jayden Lucky. He was instrumental in Troy's win, rushing for 202 yards while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Lucky has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hunter Fryman, who threw for 211 yards and one TD.

Troy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

One reason for the win was Troy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 11 sacks. It was truly a group effort as Mason Barnett, Kollin Roepke, and Tomas Lopez picked up two apiece. Roepke also made seven total tackles, which is notable because Troy is 3-1 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise. The Trojans got some further help from Tedricc Calhoun: he picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Troy pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.7 points over those games. As for Little River Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Little River Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 294.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Troy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 185.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Little River Academy was taken down by Troy 59-28 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lucky, who rushed for 262 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 104 receiving yards. Now that the Bumblebees know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
