Basketball Game Preview: HEM Miners vs. Saratoga Panthers

HEM is 0-10 against Saratoga since February of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, both will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, HEM turned things around against Guernsey-Sunrise two weeks ago. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 59-36 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Miners have posted since January 18, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saratoga). They claimed a resounding 65-36 win over Riverside. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 25 points or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Saratoga and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for HEM, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6.
