Basketball Preview: Wayne Hills Patriots vs. Lakeland Regional Lancers
Wayne Hills is 9-1 against the Lancers since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Wayne Hills Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Lakeland Regional Lancers at 4:15 p.m. Wayne Hills has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
Last Thursday, Wayne Hills narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Hornets 53-50.
Meanwhile, Lakeland Regional ended up a good deal behind the Highlanders on Thursday and lost 62-48. Lakeland Regional has struggled against the Highlanders recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Lakeland Regional might have lost, but man, Noah Pagan was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tyler Lynn, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Lakeland Regional smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. This was only their ninth loss (out of 12 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Wayne Hills' win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Lakeland Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
Wayne Hills was able to grind out a solid win over the Lancers in their previous meeting back in January, winning 56-43. Will Wayne Hills repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
