Baseball Recap: Point Loma Gets the Win

With a playoff win on the line, Point Loma rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the La Jolla Country Day Torreys. This was a revenge game for the Pointers: when they faced off against the Torreys on Wednesday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Point Loma got a great performance from Landon Moore as he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Druw Frost, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Jaxon Seiler also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Point Loma and bumps their season record up to 17-12-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for La Jolla Country Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-14.

As of now, neither Point Loma nor the Torreys have any future games scheduled.
