Basketball Recap: Magnificat Takes Down Ranked Medina

On Friday, Magnificat faced Medina in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Magnificat Blue Streaks strolled past the Medina Battling Bees with points to spare, taking the game 56-39. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Streaks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The victory (which was Magnificat's third in a row) raised their record to 9-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Medina, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Magnificat will take on Rocky River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rocky River is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season. As for Medina, they will face off against Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Highland will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Medina surely won't give up without a fight.
