Softball Recap: Falls Lake Firebirds vs. American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots
Falls Lake won the last time they faced American Leadership Academy-Johnston and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Firebirds came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 9-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firebirds.

Wynterlee Glenn made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Jolie Sensenig was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Leah Horton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.
The win got Falls Lake back to even at 9-9. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Falls Lake will host Franklin Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Grace Christian at 4:30 p.m.
