Basketball Game Preview: Cardinal Huskies vs. Kirtland Hornets

Cardinal hasn't had much luck against Kirtland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cardinal Huskies will square off against the Kirtland Hornets at 5:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Cardinal is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They were beaten by Berkshire 55-23. The Huskies were down 46-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Kirtland came up short against Cuyahoga Heights on Tuesday and fell 61-53. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Red Wolves recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Kirtland now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Cardinal, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Cardinal ended up a good deal behind Kirtland when the teams last played back in January of 2024, losing 60-44. Can Cardinal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
