Softball Recap: Rhea County Golden Eagles vs. Sequoyah Chiefs

After flying high against Oliver Springs last Thursday, Rhea County came back down to earth. The Rhea County Golden Eagles fell just short of the Sequoyah Chiefs by a score of 10-9 on Monday. Rhea County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sequoyah apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Olivia Day made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and a triple. Another player making a difference was Bristal Hennessey, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Rhea County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
