The Chavez Eagles will take on the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines in a tournament on Saturday. Chavez is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Chavez barely beat South Gate the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Chavez blew past South Gate 10-4 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

The team relied heavily on Jessica Ramos, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Anaya, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Chavez was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Harvard-Westlake has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.88 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 15-3 to Burroughs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wolverines have suffered since May 7, 2024.

Chavez's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Harvard-Westlake, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
