Football Recap: Mepham Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Mepham and Valley Stream Central squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Mepham had to settle for second. They fell 12-6 to the Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly six points.

This is the second loss in a row for Mepham and nudges their season record down to 0-2. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 18 points this season. As for Valley Stream Central, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

As of now, neither Mepham nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
