Preview: Colts Neck Cougars vs. Mainland Regional Mustangs
Colts Neck has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Mainland Regional Mustangs at TBD on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Saturday, Colts Neck never let their opponents score. They claimed a resounding 41-0 victory over Toms River South at home. Given Colts Neck's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Toms River South is ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chris Scully was his usual excellent self, rushing for 195 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Scully hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for seven straight games.
Meanwhile, Mainland Regional put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Manalapan 56-20 at home.
Colts Neck's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points per game. As for Mainland Regional, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
