Basketball Recap: MacArthur Comes Up Short

MacArthur lost against Spring back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The MacArthur Generals were outmatched by the Spring Lions and fell 69-42. The Generals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.

Jaylan Tran was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points and five assists for Spring. Tran is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Tadarius Wade was another key player, going 7 of 14 en route to 18 points.

MacArthur dropped their record down to 9-16 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Spring, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-14.

MacArthur has already played their next game (against Westfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Spring Lions duke it out with the Dekaney Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Spring is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.
