Basketball Game Preview: Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans vs. North Eagles

Ridge Spring-Monetta is 2-8 against North since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans will be playing at home against the North Eagles at 8:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Ridge Spring-Monetta will head into Tuesday's game out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They lost 86-64 to Blackville-Hilda.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely North's strategy against Williston-Elko on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that North blew Williston-Elko out of the water with a 73-35 final score. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season.

Ridge Spring-Monetta better keep an eye on Stetson Stacks. He was instrumental in North's win, going 8 of 19 on his way to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Stacks' evening made it 17 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Michael Felder, who posted 11 points and six boards.

North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

North has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.8 points. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

Ridge Spring-Monetta might still be hurting after the 68-45 loss they got from North in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Ridge Spring-Monetta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
