Basketball Game Preview: Upper Columbia Academy Lions vs. Freeman Scotties

The Upper Columbia Academy Lions will challenge the Freeman Scotties at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Upper Columbia Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 59 points back in December of 2024, they were much more limited against Liberty on Tuesday. They were dealt a 65-18 loss at the hands of the Lancers. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freeman). They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 78-36 blowout they got against Warden. The win was nothing new for the Scotties as they're now sitting on five straight.

Freeman pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Upper Columbia Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
