Basketball Recap: Era Comes Up Short

After soaring to 60 points the game before, Era was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 75-30 loss at the hands of the Slidell Greyhounds. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1194th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 472nd).

Era's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-8. As for Slidell, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Era will take on Muenster at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Muenster will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Era surely won't give up without a fight. As for Slidell, they and Tioga will meet in a canine-themed contest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Slidell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
