Softball Recap: Kenston Has No Trouble Against Kirtland

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Geauga, Kenston was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Kirtland Hornets with a sharp 10-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bombers, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kenston is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Kirtland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kenston will head out to square off against Chagrin Falls at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bombers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. As for Kirtland, they are taking a road trip to challenge West Geauga at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
