Basketball Recap: Heritage Academy Falls to St. John Paul II Catholic in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Heritage Academy kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 52-10 loss at the hands of the St. John Paul II Catholic Lions. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

St. John Paul II Catholic had a senior duo take command as Janey Lopez shot 58% from the field en route to 30 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals and Sofia Cervantes almost dropped a double-double with 12 assists and nine steals.

Coming up, Heritage Academy will welcome Chandler Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they will head out on the road to challenge Scottsdale Preparatory Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
