Basketball Game Preview: Turner Golden Bears vs. Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds

Turner is 0-10 against Shawnee Heights since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Turner Golden Bears will head out to face off against the Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds at 5:45 p.m.

Turner is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Basehor-Linwood, falling 62-13. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Bobcats are ranked 97th).

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Shawnee Heights beat Basehor-Linwood 53-48 on Wednesday. The Thunderbirds haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Turner's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Shawnee Heights, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6-2.

Turner was taken down by Shawnee Heights 64-23 when the teams last played on February 4th. Can Turner avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
