Basketball Game Preview: Baker Braves vs. Lone Pine Golden Eagles

Baker hasn't had much luck against Lone Pine recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Braves will head out to square off against the Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Baker put up the most points they have all season on Wednesday. They blew past Owens Valley, posting a 68-12 victory. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Cubs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Lone Pine on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Lee Vining out of the water with a 70-20 final score. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Lone Pine's win came from a few key players that Baker will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Samuell Gockley, who posted 12 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Gustavo Caro, who had six points and six steals.

Baker's record is now 4-7. As for Lone Pine, their record now sits at 15-7.
