Baseball Game Preview: Southside Christian Sabres vs. Greer Yellow Jackets

The Southside Christian Sabres will head out to face off against the Greer Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southside Christian will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Southside Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Upstate on Monday as they made off with a 17-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Sabres, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Will Cauthen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Southside Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .560 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Greer fell victim to Daniel and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Lions. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southside Christian's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-1-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Greer, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Southside Christian came up short against Greer in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, falling 6-3. Can the Sabres avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
