Basketball Recap: Labelle's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

If LaBelle was riding high fresh off their 65-35 takedown of Riverdale on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cowboys/Cowgirls fell 67-62 to the East Lee County Jaguars on Tuesday. The Cowboys/Cowgirls' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Several Cowboys/Cowgirls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Clifford Love, who went 8-for-13 on his way to 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Love is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jerrahd Williams, who posted 12 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

LaBelle's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for East Lee County, they now also have a winning record of 6-5.

LaBelle and Neumann will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Celtics will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cowboys/Cowgirls surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Lee County, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dunbar at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
