 After only one  run in their last  contest, West Lafayette made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Tipton  on Friday. The West Lafayette Red Devils put the hurt on the Tipton Blue Devils with a sharp  12-4 win. That looming  12-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for West Lafayette yet this  season.
  Ben Werth and  Joe Doty made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Werth   pitched 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Doty   pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   three  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances. At bat,  Werth  got  no  hits from his four  at bats, while  Doty  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Jacob Deutsch was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4.  Jack Shaeffer was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
 On Tipton's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Caleb Hare, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 The  victory  made it two in a row for West Lafayette and  bumps their season record up to 6-12. As for Tipton, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with that  loss, which was their eighth straight  at home.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Lafayette will  take on Lafayette Jefferson at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Tipton, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Elwood at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
