Recap: Columbia Independent vs. La Monte Vikings
This season hasn't been kind to Columbia Independent, who are still winless after their fourth match. The matchup between Columbia Independent and La Monte wasn't particularly close, with Columbia Independent falling 61-47. Columbia Independent has not had much luck with La Monte recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Columbia Independent still got an impressive performance from Blake Morris, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Morris scored a full 27.7% of Columbia Independent's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Gabe Martin was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Even though they lost, Columbia Independent were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Columbia Independent's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for La Monte, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Columbia Independent will head out on the road to face off against Christian School District at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. La Monte won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cole Camp at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. Cole Camp is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
